Watcher is run by one person, not a company. This page says exactly what information is held about you, why it exists, and how to get rid of it. It is written plainly on purpose.
1. Signing in
If you sign in, it is through Google. Google tells us your email address, your name and your profile picture. That is all we receive — Google never shares your password with us, and we could not see it if we wanted to.
Your account exists so your key and your download stay attached to you, and so you can get them back without asking anyone.
2. Buying
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number never touches this site and is never seen by us. Stripe collects your email address, a billing address, and the Discord username you type at checkout, and tells us the payment succeeded.
3. Using the client
When your key is checked, the licence server records:
- A hardware fingerprint — a one-way hash of identifiers from your PC. It cannot be turned back into your machine's details, and it exists so one key cannot be shared across many computers.
- Your IP address and the client's version string, for spotting keys being shared or attacked.
- A hash of your key, never the key itself in readable form.
- While you are in a multiplayer game: your in-game name, and a one-way hash of the server address you are on. This is used to tell which players are running Watcher when a bug or a false report comes in, and it is thrown away shortly after you stop playing.
That is the whole list. The client does not read your Minecraft account details, your password or session, your email address, your chat, your files, or anything else you do in game, and none of that is ever sent anywhere.
4. Where it is kept
- Accounts — Supabase, hosted in Stockholm, Sweden.
- Licences and security records — Cloudflare Workers with Upstash Redis.
- Payments — Stripe.
- This website — Netlify.
Each of those companies processes the data on our behalf and under their own privacy terms. Nothing is sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. There is no analytics or tracking script anywhere on this site.
5. How long it is kept
- Security records — deleted automatically after 30 days.
- In-game name and server hash — deleted automatically within 30 minutes of you stopping.
- Licence records — kept while the key exists, so a key can be checked, renewed or reset.
- Your account — kept until you ask for it to be deleted.
- Payment records — kept by Stripe as long as tax and accounting rules require.
6. Cookies
No advertising or analytics cookies are used. Signing in stores a session in your own browser so you stay logged in; clearing your browser data removes it and signs you out.
7. Getting your data or deleting it
Ask, and you get it. Message the Discord in the footer or email watcherclientmc@gmail.com and you can have a copy of everything held about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Deletion is done within 30 days.
Deleting your account also ends the licence attached to it. Stripe keeps its own payment records regardless, because it is legally required to.
8. Age
This site is not intended for children under 13, and accounts should not be created by them. If you believe a younger child has an account, write in and it will be deleted.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Substantial changes will be announced in the Discord.
10. Contact
Discord is fastest, or email watcherclientmc@gmail.com.
